Locals cool off at Coolidge Park during extreme summer heat

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — This summer has been recorded as one of the hottest we have seen in a while.

Locals are taking advantage of the Coolidge Park fountains as the heat continues.

The fountains were recently shut down and repaired due to an electrical issue.

However, they are back in time for the high heat conditions.

The fountains are up and running for the summer and many are using them to cool off during the summer.

“Today is hot. I mean, I’m over these 90-degree days. I’m over the rain days too. Let’s get some nice breeze in. I need a good breeze on a hot day. Otherwise, I’m just boiling. I’m melting,” local resident Trevor Denney said.

As the high temperatures continue, it is advised to stay hydrated and cool off regularly.

Monitor your health and take breaks when possible.
