Local events mark 500th anniversary of Protestant Reformation

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Events were held today all over Chattanooga to mark the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation on October 31.

The Bach Choir presented 2017-2018 Barnett & Company Cantata Series in celebration of the Reformation.

It was at 4 p.m. at Christ Church Episcopal on Douglas Street.

Five hundred years ago at age 21, Martin Luther reformed the way generations of people related to God when he challenged the Catholic church.

He nailed complaints opposing teachings of the Catholic church to the door of All Saints’ Church and other churches in Wittenberg, Germany.
