Local Labor Council hosts town hall for Election 2018 candidates to answer citizens questions
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The local Labor Council hosted a town hall Saturday morning.
They invited the working class to come out and share their concerns with those who are running for any positions in the area.
Carla Leslie asked the panel the first question about how government officials can help workers form unions.
Leslie says, “They wanted to union, but the company scared them. They wouldn’t take flyers, they wouldn’t join and it was a really scary situation. Some of them wanted it and they were telling us to get off of their property and all that. So I want to know what would you do to secure that a company does not retaliate against anybody who wants to join a union or start a union?
This event was held from 9 to Noon at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers building in Chattanooga.
