Local Nursing Home honors healthcare workers as “Enduring Heroes”

SODDY DAISY, Tenn (WDEF) – A local health care nursing home took a moment today to honor their employees that endured the pandemic.

The Soddy-Daisy Health Care center honored their staff with food and awards to help show their appreciation for all they have done.

The theme of the event was “Enduring Heroes” to symbolize how well these men and women kept the nursing home and their patients healthy and happy.

“It was a rough road. It’s still a rough road. That particular time was something nobody ever thought would happen in our lifetime. It’s the fact they made it through with flying colors and they kept coming back every day to do it again knowing what was waiting for them,” says Lynn Jornov , Director of Nursing.

“To show up at this building every day to know you could be waking into your death sentence and come through those doors as dedicated as they were and stick with it was just incredible,” says Randy Heisser, Medical Director.

News 12 would like to thank all healthcare workers for their tireless efforts throughout this pandemic.
