Local Trump Supporters’ reactions to the Inauguration

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – With multitudes gathering in DC for Trump’s Inauguration, we interviewed local Trump supporters, asking their thoughts on this historic event.

January 20, 2025, marks the end of President Biden’s time in office and welcomes Donald Trump as the 47th President.

Kyah Dollinger, a well-versed young local, explains why he believes this is a strategic move in the right direction.

“He did the job once. We’re still here… I mean, at the end of the day, we’re still the United States. We still have, you know, we’re still a global superpower. We still have a spotlight on the global stage, and I think we always will. So, to see him come back into office, I think is an exciting thing, and I’m very happy. I’m alive to witness something like this.”

We were able to interview many others who carried the same belief as Dollinger about the inauguration.

June Jones, a Tennessee resident, says she is ready to see the country as it was four years ago before President Trump left office.

“The country flourished so much better when he was in office before, and that’s what it’s all about.”

Jacob Deck from Chickamauga, Georgia, highlights the reasons why he views the 47th president as such a profound leader.

“Through the trials and the assassination attempt, he never gave up, and that’s the kind of leader that I wanted. That’s the leader I voted for.”

Zack Brandenburg, Chairman of Northwest Georgia Young Republicans, breathes a sigh of relief today, as he feels that America is once again in safe hands.

“We can be a sovereign, free nation again, and it was so overwhelming, the amount of love and excitement and just positivity that I felt over the last several hours. And Lord willing, I’ll feel that over the next four years.”

Briggs Frick, a young Tennessee resident, simply expresses how much he loves Mr. Trump’s hair.

“I love Donald Trump’s hair.”

While many residents’ concerns may be focused on different areas, one thing is for certain: they are all confident in President Trump and believe he will keep his promises of “Making America Great Again.”

“It’s profound. I’m 23 years old and getting to see a president who was voted out of office and then, four years later, voted back into office,” Dollinger exclaims. “I think that says something about the American people. I think that speaks to the American people’s wants. I think we will continue to have a spot on the global stage.”
