Lookouts Rece Hinds Enjoyed Head Tappin’ Home Run Streak
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Chattanooga Lookouts have been putting up runs in bunches but, no one is hitting the ball better than Rece HInds.
He hit at least one homer in 6 straight games most of which were over 400 feet and news 12s Brian Armstrong caught up with man with the hot bat.
Said Hinds:Honestly, I don’t even know if I could describe it. Kind of it’s kind of you kind of black out. It happens. And I don’t know, I just kind of let emotions take over.
Rece Hinds went six games in a row with at least one home run, multiple homers, going over 400ft power.
Said Hinds: Something that I’ve never really struggled with. And I think it’s just when I connect with the ball, it’s just good things happen.
Not only is he hitting the ball a mile,he is also cutting down on the strikeouts.
Said Hinds:Make my zone smaller. I had a problem chasing earlier in the season and last few games I kind of just tightened it up a little bit and been able to kind of just hunt one particular zone
And one successful bat is leading to the next.
Said Hinds: I think it’s just getting a little bit more confidence, obviously getting later in the season. So I’m kind of just getting back into it and just getting those reps and having more confidence when I step inside the box.
And after a home run, you can see the emotion and celebration. And it’s capped off with a head tap.
Rounding third.
Said Hinds: I kind of started it with a little thing called head taps. And it’s just kind of like in basketball when someone dunks on somebody head tap.So now it’s just a thing where when I hit a home run, I like to head tap going around third.
