Lookouts Snap 5 Game Losing Skid With 9-6 Win Over Rocket City


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts claimed the first game of the series over Rocket City, 9-6, on Tuesday night from AT&T Field.

Chattanooga (39-52) got things going early putting up five runs in the first. Alex McGarry got things started with a two-RBI single to score Michael Siani and Elly De La Cruz. Ivan Johnson added two more with a single and Nick Quintana came around to score on a throwing error to complete the rally.

TJ Hopkins walked in a run to extend the Lookout lead to six in the fourth. Rocket City (52-39) tried climbing back into it, putting up three runs in the fifth but Chattanooga quickly answered with two runs of their own off a Siani double to extend the lead.

Siani came across big again in the seventh pushing Johnson home with an RBI single for an insurance run. The Trash Pandas did not go down without a fight tough scoring three runs in the ninth but Connor Curlis struck out Kevin Maitan to hold on for the, 9-6, win.

Siani led the Chattanooga offense with a 4-for-5 day adding a double and a pair of RBIs. Michael De Leon finished 3-for-5 with a double. Johnson finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and McGarry went 1-for-5 with two RBIs.

Connor Phillips got the start on the mound pitching four innings allowing a pair of hits with three walks and struck out six batters. Ryan Nutof (3-1) was given the win coming in and pitching two innings in relief allowing just a hit while fanning a pair of batters.

Ryan Aguilar paced the Rocket City attack going 2-for-5 with a double and RBI. Adam Seminaris (3-4) was tagged with the loss getting chased out after just 0.2 of an inning giving up five runs (four earned), six hits, a walk, and struck out a batter.

The two teams will be back in action on Wednesday beginning at 7:15 p.m.
