Mackey Announces Re-Election Bid
County Commission District 4
Hamilton County Commissioner Dr. Warren Mackey, who represents District 4 on the current nine-member board of commissioners, announces his bid for re-election, according to a statement from his campaign team.
“I am proud to have been a part of the efforts that have resulted in significant economic and job growth over the past 16 years. We have kept the tax burden very low and we continue to be one of three counties in the state to maintain a AAA bond rating, but we’re not done yet. With that said, I am officially announcing my bid for re-election as your 4th District County Commissioner,” Mackey stated.
“In my next term, I am dedicated to maintaining fiscal responsibility and creating a more equitable future for all of our residents. Improving the economic health of Hamilton County will require job growth and improving the education system. Through continuing to support our children, families, and businesses through this pandemic, we are making greater progress on housing affordability, health disparities, criminal justice reform, equity in schools, and much more. I would be honored to have the support of District 4 residents and I appreciate those who are already endorsing my campaign”, Mackey said in the statement.
Projects currently in the works for Commissioner Mackey include the allocation of American Rescue Plan funding, the reallocation of prison funds to support the creation of prevention based economic programs, the expansion of a creative digital literacy program from Howard Connect Academy to The Howard School and the Stop the Violence Task Force established to formulate a systematic and comprehensive plan to address gun violence in Hamilton County.
Mackey concluded, “We’ve made a lot of positive changes, but we still have a long way to go. We have the opportunity to transform our county over the next few years and I want Hamilton County District 4 to know that I am here for you as we continue to open doors and make radical changes that improve the quality of life for our residents,”. In 2022, Re-elect Dr. Warren Mackey for Hamilton County. Early voting starts on April 13, 2022.
