Chattanooga woman victim of the Bahama tour boat explosion

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The American who was killed in a tour boat explosion over the weekend in the Bahamas was from Chattanooga.

Maleka Jackson and her husband were celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary.

They were on a small boat that exploded off the coast of Exuma on Saturday.

Her husband suffered burns in the explosion.

12 people were on board.

Maleka live in Dunwoody, Georgia but grew up in Chattanooga, attending Dalewood Middle and the School For The Arts & Sciences, before graduating from Tennessee State.

She traveled extensively for her job as a diversity coordinator for large companies.
