Man arrested after shooting on Fourth Avenue in June

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police have arrested a 26-year-old man for a shooting that happened at the beginning of June.

Victor Bentley Davis faces charges for attempted murder after a woman was shot in her vehicle on Fourth Avenue.

Police found shell casings and video evidence during their investigation.

After reviewing the video, they found the suspect’s vehicle with evidence inside.

Davis was arrested and faces three counts of attempted first degree murder along with reckless endangerment and firearm charges.

Thankfully, the woman was left with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

On June 1, 2024, at 5:28 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call in the 3400 block of Fourth Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS responded. EMS transported her to a local hospital.

CPD’s Homicide Unit responded to conduct the investigation.

The preliminary investigation shows the victim was inside a vehicle when a suspect in another vehicle began shooting at the vehicle occupied by the victim. The suspect and suspect vehicle left the area after the shooting.
