Man arrested after throwing various contraband over jail fence
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man has been arrested after getting caught throwing contraband over the fence of the Hamilton County Jail.
The arrest came from an incident that occurred in November of 2024.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Edward Wynn was identified throwing a package over the perimeter fence that surrounds the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
The package contained multiple types of narcotics, a cell phone, and other prohibited contraband.
HCSO stated in total, 60 grams of methamphetamine, 12 hydrocodone pills, 13 grams of marijuana, and one pound of tobacco were recovered.
Wynn was arrested March 26, 2025 and taken to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
He is being charged with the following:
- Contraband in a Penal Institution
- Drugs for Resale (3 counts)
It was also discovered that Wynn had outstanding probation violations for the following:
- Aggravated Assault
- Vandalism
- Possession of a Firearm Prior to a Felony
