Man arrested for assaulting first responders
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – One man is arrested after assaulting a first responder on Wednesday.
At around 4 P.M., a HCSO patrol lieutenant saw a Hamilton County EMS ambulance stop suddenly on Highway 27 South.
The lieutenant stopped to help with the potential emergency.
He witnesses EMS personnel struggling with a patient that has been identified as Christopher Liles.
Liles broke free and fled on foot.
He was caught in the median after attempting to cross Highway 27, and then assaulted the lieutenant and two EMS personnel.
The lieutenant sustained minor injuries.
Liles was taken into custody and sent to a local hospital for evaluation.
Liles has been charged with the following:
- Assault on a First Responder (x4)
- Resisting Arrest
- Evading Arrest
