Man arrested for attempted murder after shooting in Soddy Daisy
SODDY DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Soddy Daisy man has been arrested for attempted murder following a shooting Monday night.
On September 22, 2025, at 11:10 p.m., officers with the Soddy Daisy Police Department (SDPD) responded to the 11000 block of Davenport Road in regards to a shooting call.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim walking towards them with an apparent gunshot wound to his face.
The SDPD said the victim was covered in blood and couldn’t tell officers what happened.
A nearby resident told officers that the victim walked down to their camper screaming he had been shot.
After clearing the residence, officers entered the home and found Floyd Allender standing in the living room.
Allender admitted to officers he had shot the victim multiple times and “hoped that it killed him”.
Officers detained Allender, and the victim was transported to Erlanger Main by EMS.
Upon further investigation, officers located the firearm and determined 7 shots had been fired.
Officers later met the victim at the hospital to get a statement regarding the incident.
The victim told officers that during a party, Allender attempted to seduce a woman by undressing.
The woman felt uncomfortable, so the victim took her to another room in an attempt to make her feel safe.
Allender then walked into the room and began shooting.
The victim told SDPD that he felt a bullet hit his head and attempted to push the gun away but fell and hit his head on the washer.
The victim then got up, and ran to a nearby camper to tell the residence to call 911.
Floyd Allender was later arrested and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder.
