HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Detectives in Hamilton County arrested a man who intentionally drove into a patrol vehicle with a stolen car, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said Michael Bradshaw, 30, had active warrants for aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and failure to appear.

HCSO detectives were trying to arrest Bradshaw around 2 p.m. on Friday at a house on Dayton Boulevard.

At this time, HCSO said Bradshaw quickly left his apartment and got into a black Volkswagen Jetta, which was stolen.

They said Bradshaw then intentionally drove into a sheriff’s vehicle with a detective inside. He was attempting to flee the scene and evade capture, according to the sheriff’s office.

The detective in that patrol vehicle tried to block Bradshaw from leaving with the vehicle. The HCSO said Bradshaw then drove around the building and into a concrete sidewalk, causing the car to bottom out.

Authorities said he then got out of the vehicle and tried to run, but detectives quickly stopped him.

During the arrest, deputies said they found a small plastic baggy containing what they believed to be meth and fentanyl. They also found a set of digital scales with suspected narcotics residue inside a backpack in the Volkswagen.

Bradshaw now faces these additional charges:
