Man facing multiple vandalism charges taken into custody by Chattanooga Police
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say a man is in custody facing two vandalism charges.
According to the arrest affidavit, 52 year old Dale Dockery was taken into custody Sunday.
The warrant for his arrest was served at a hotel on Lee Highway.
Several complaints have been made about suspected behavior of Dockery.
On September 13th, a complaint was made that a suspicious vehicle was sitting outside of a Express Way towing. When the complainant approached the driver, they reported that she saw him throwing pennies in the parking lot at a vehicle.
She told police that a man then yelled, “this is strike three 666, let’s roll!!” then got in a car and pulled off.
It was later discovered that the suspect had damaged the windshield of one of the tow trucks.
It was believed that this person was also a suspect in another vandalism case at Canaan Baptist Church.
On the same day of that complaint, another complaint was filed about someone writing “666” above the crosses on the doors and windows at Canaan Baptist.
Dockery’s brother told police that he is “a mental health consumer and has been recently talking about satanic and spiritual things.”
Dockery is also accused of vandalizing the American flag and multiple fuel pumps at the USA Fuels on E 23rd Street.
He will appear in Hamilton County court on the 21st.
The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is thanking the public for tips that led to Dockery’s identification. He is accused of vandalizing the Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
