Man Shot By Deputies Was Just Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

Chattanooga (WDEF) – The man who was shot by Hamilton County deputies had just been charged in an old domestic assault case.

Hamilton county deputies were called to a home Wednesday night in the Collegedale/Ooltewah area on a domestic disturbance complaint.

The suspect fled the scene and led officers on a chase that ended on Highway 153.

Officers say he brandished a gun, so they opened fire.

46-year old Brent Pickard was killed.

He was just booked three weeks ago for a violation of parole on domestic assault.

Chattanooga Police are leading the investigation into the shooting.
