Manhunt ends for Catoosa suspect in kidnapping and attempted murder case

RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) – Catoosa County investigators caught up with Wesley Gage Weldon on Thursday night.

He was captured at a home on Indian Avenue in Rossville around 8:20 PM.

The manhunt began Wednesday for the man suspected of kidnapping and attempted murder.

He is the brother of former state lawmaker Tom Weldon.

Deputies got a tip that he was at the Rossville house.

They staked it out and spotted him arriving in one vehicle and getting into another one.

They say as they closed in, he tried to drive off.

Officers broke out the window to get to him.

When he resisted arrest, they used a Taser on him.

Catoosa Sheriff Gary Sisk says six agencies helped them track Weldon down (U.S. Marshal’s Service, Chattanooga, East Ridge, Rossville, Hamilton County and Walker County).
