Marion County student taken into custody for making alleged threat
MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – A student makes an alleged threat and was taken into custody Wednesday.
According to Marion County Superintendent Mark Griffith, It happened at Marion County High school.
The male student was arrested and taken to juvenile detention.
The nature of the threat was not disclosed.
Griffith said some students were the ones that reported the threat to a school resource officer, that then investigated the situation before putting handcuffs on the student.
“Obviously he was 365 days expulsion, and he’ll have his due process next week for me to be able to review that on the recommendation of the disciplinary hearing authority,” Griffith said.
Griffith added that their job is to keep a safe learning environment for the students, and they’re going to do that.
