Mayor announces upgrades for Birchwood Community Center

BIRCHWOOD, Tennessee (WDEF) – Hamilton County has plans for an upgrade in Birchwood.

Mayor Wamp announces that they have landed a $100,000 grant to improve the Birchwood Community Center.

The plan is to create a new computer lab plus add tennis and pickleball courts.

The money comes from a Broadband Ready Communities grant and still must be approved by the County Commission.

“We listened to the priorities of Birchwood residents and look forward to creating a place where families and people of all ages can come together, connect, and thrive at this renewed community hub,” said Mayor Wamp.

County leaders are also hoping to add a new playground in the center of the track at the Community Center.

The center is the old elementary school in the town.
