McCallie Running Back Alex Trotter Celebrates Rushing Record

McCallie running back Alex Trotter set a new Chattanooga city rushing record last week.
Trotter ran for 374-yards and seven touchdowns in the Blue Tornado’s win over Pope John Paul the Second.
Following his big performance, Alex Trotter had no idea what he had accomplished.
"When I first saw the number, it was kind of a big shock. Actually when I saw the number, I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal."
Said head coach Ralph Potter,"It was a lot of yards. (chuckles) We had to keep running a lot of plays. We played four quarters, which was the first time we had done that this season."
Reporter-"Did he treat the offensive line to dinner or lunch or anything like that?"
Said offensive lineman Logan McCallie,"No. But I wish he did."(Laughter)
It’s no treat to tackle Trotter, even though he’s listed at 5’9, 170-pounds.
Said McCallie,"He’s not very tall. He’s not very thick, but he’s got something special about him."
Said Potter,"Well speed is the biggest thing. But he’s really strong. He has done a good job in the weight room. So he’s capable of breaking some tackles."
Said offensive lineman J.J. Moncus,"He’s very quick off the ball initially.
He has great vision to hit the holes well. His speed and athleticism is incredible. He is a God-given athlete."
Trotter’s 374-yards is likely a McCallie record, but it’s back to reality this week.
Said Trotter,"Coach Henderson when we came in Monday. He was like good game. Forget about it."(chuckles)
And Trotter has the humility to march on.
Said McCallie,"He’s a good kid. Works hard in school. Decently intelligent. (laughter) He’s committed to doing everything right the best way he can."
