McCallie School and The Salvation Army team up to bring Thanksgiving to families across Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Salvation Army of Chattanooga and McCallie School have partnered to bring Thanksgiving to families in need.
Every year, McCallie brings in food donations to make boxes for families so they can have a Thanksgiving meal.
Donations included sides such as macaroni and cheese, canned goods, fried onions, green bean casserole kits, and a lot more.
They also donate turkeys to go in the boxes.
This was a big year for McCallie. They donated:
- 131 boxes of stuffing
- 135 potatoes
- 53 cans of gravy
- 113 boxes of macaroni and cheese
- 104 cans of green beans
- 111 cans of corn
- 49 cans of cream of mushroom soup
- 41 cartons of fried onions
- 154 boxes of cornbread mix
- 79 pumpkin pie fillings
- 88 cans of cranberries and 75 turkeys.
McCallie has been partnering with The Salvation Army for the past 20 years.
