McCallie Set to Battle MUS For Right to Advance to State Title Game

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) McCallie travels to Memphis on Friday night where they hope to punch their ticket to the state title game for the first time in over a decade.

McCallie must travel 300 miles to play MUS, but the Blue Tornado are cool with the long trip.
Said head coach Ralph Potter:”You know last year in the quarterfinals we traveled to Memphis. The guys really enjoyed it. We stayed in a hotel.”
Said quarterback DeAngelo Hardy:”I don’t know about you guys but we get to miss school Friday. We get to focus on the game early. Stay at a hotel with our brothers and stuff we have prepared with all in the season, so we’re ready to play. It’s just fun though.”
And speaking of fun, it appears MUS will showcase a fun and gun offense.
Said Potter:”They have a great quarterback that can really throw it very much unlike any other quarterback we have seen this year. They have a split end/safety that’s going to LSU on a football and baseball deal.”
Said defensive back Stone Roebuck:”Looking forward to more of a threat in the passing game and getting to cover some people. Their receiver is a really good player and stuff, so it should be a fun game.”
Coach Potter already knows Big Blue’s winning formula.
Said Potter:”We are sort of on a spectrum. Our defense is a constant and our running game is a constant. So for us, how we do is depending turnovers, penalties, and the kicking game.”
McCallie is trying to reach their first state title game since 2006.
Said Potter:”They know it has taken awhile for McCallie to get back to this position. They want to win. There’s no need to even say a whole lot to them about that.”
Said Roebuck:”For me it’s personal. My brother was apart of the 2001 state championship team, so I would love to be able to have that with him and stuff like that.”
