McDonald’s operators hold ‘Fries for School Supplies’ campaign
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Local McDonald’s owner-operators are back with an impactful initiative– “Fries for School Supplies.”
The program will run from August 21 to August 25.
McDonald’s operators claim that “every crispy fry purchase fuels local education.”
“Ten percent of all a la carte fry sales will be donated back to local schools. And this is extremely important because this allows our schools to be able to provide our teachers with the supplies they need. So, everything from hand sanitizer, to whiteboards, to technology, all of those things we are looking to be able to give back to our schools,” Greater Foods Group HR Strategist/Community Relations Partner Keonna Daughtry said.
McDonald’s will total the number of sales and donate it directly to the schools with a check presentation in September.
Last year’s success raised $85,000 for schools.
“For our regular customers, I know they come in and get their combo meals, so in addition to that feel free to throw on some extra a la carte fries for friends and family, and that’s a great way to contribute as well too. We’re really just looking to see the community come out and support because everybody in our community we either have a child in Hamilton County Schools or we know someone that does. I think it’s just a great way to show our support as a community,” Daughtry said.
Certain McDonald’s locations across greater Chattanooga, North Alabama, and Bowling Green Kentucky are participating.
All they ask customers to do is add on a crispy treat to support their local schools.
