Multiple roads closed due to Dade County wildfire

UPDATES:

Nov. 14, 7:25 PM:

Highway 136 reopened at 6:45 p.m. after the vehicle was towed.

Dade County EMA says McKaig Road is open to residents only at this time.

I-59 is still closed as well.


Nov. 14, 6:30 PM: 

The Egypt Hollow wildfire jumped a break and Georgia Forestry was on site Tuesday evening, according to Dade County EMA. Trenton-Dade County Fire and South Dade Fire Rescue were on scene as well.

In addition, Highway 136 West “at the Venue at the Bluff’s westbound lane” was closed as well, Dade County EMA said. This is due to a disabled tractor trailer.

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — There is a new wildfire in Dade County, according to Dade County EMA.

Due to the fire, McKaig Road is closed, as is I-59 southbound. This is south of Trenton.

Fire crews are currently on scene working to contain the fire, Dade officials said.

They made the alert of the new fire at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
