McMinn Central May Take to the Air More in 2023

McMinn Central earned their first playoff berth last year since 2016. What will it take for the Chargers to make it back-to-back playoff seasons?
Maybe a tweak of the offense. Brian Armstrong takes McMinn Central into the 30-in-30 spotlight.

Said head coach Matt Moody:”I think the expectations around here for these guys have changed.”
McMinn Central football has improved greatly over the past few years under head coach Matt Moody.
Said Moody:”Our goal at the beginning of the year every year is we want to be playing ball in November. We talk about that a lot. I thought it was a big momentum boost for us to not just get in the playoffs, but to win.”
Said receiver Bay Harbison:”We won a lot, so we’re bringing a winning culture here. So it kind of sets the standard of we want to win every game, and when we lose we’re not happy about it.”
Last year’s senior class showed the way a team should be led, and that it’s trickled down to this year’s senior class.
Said Moody:”Last year’s group of seniors we talk about them a lot. I think they showed the rest of these guys what it’s like to lead as a senior. It’s their team and how to take ownership and hold people accountable. That’s kind of what our seniors have picked up.”
Team and fans expect McMinn Central to air it out more this season, and that’s something the players are excited for.
Said Moody:”With our quarterback Ayden Plemons his skill set is a little bit different than what Novice was. Novice was probably our best athlete on the team last year. Ran the ball great. Kind of built the offense around him there. This year with our skill guys and what we have coming back. Couple of new basketball players coming out. Ayden being a three sport guy playing quarterback. Hopefully we will be able to throw the ball around a little bit more this year. Maybe fits our team a little bit better.”
Said Harbison:”I think it makes it a little more exciting, especially to watch. Playing too. Kind of just makes us more all-around a better team I think. It’s harder to guard. It’s harder to play defense against us. I think teams are scared when they play us because we are a threat in every way.”
