McMinn Central Wins State Tournament Opener Over Gatlinburg-Pittman

Murfreesboro, TN-(WDEF-TV) Molly Masingale scored 29 points as McMinn Central pulled away in the second half to beat Gatlinburg-Pittman in the quarterfinals of the Blue Cross Basketball state championships. The Chargerettes were down one at halftime, but they hit over 50 percent of their shots in the second half to seal the victory. McMinn Central was lethal at the foul line hitting 26 of 32 free throws. Masingale was 13 of 14 from the charity stripe. McMinn Central advances to the semifinals Friday at 5:30, where they will take on Gibson Co.
