McMinn County Armed Robbery Arrests

ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) – The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office has charged three people with an armed robbery that could have been worse.

It happened Sunday Evening around 9 PM on County Road 249.

The victim told officers that three people came to the residence and robbed him.

He also said that they fired a gun at him, with the bullet grazing him.

“Deputies responded within minutes,” said Sheriff Joe Guy, “and very quickly developed a suspect and vehicle description. They canvassed the area and passed the information on to other agencies.”

About an hour later, police in Englewood spotted the vehicle and pulled it over.

They arrested the three suspects and helped Sheriff’s officers find the gun that they ditched.

Colbin Seth Hancock, 22, of Athens; Joshua Paul King, 26, of Decatur; and , 24, of Calhoun all face charges of Aggravated Robbery.

“Sgt. Tony Allman’s shift and the Englewood Officers are to be commended for quickly resolving this issue,” added Sheriff Guy.
