McMinnville caregiver charged with stealing from vulnerable adult

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Tennessee caregiver has been charged with financially exploiting a vulnerable adult.

A Rutherford County grand jury indicted 48-year-old Tashius Tarese Pleasant, of McMinnville, on November 9.

The TBI and the Murfreesboro Police Department had been investigating a theft from a home care patient.

Pleasant used the victim’s money to make more than $20,000 worth of purchases, the TBI said. These purchases were made between 2022 and 2023.

The TBI said Pleasant was employed by a home healthcare company during the time of the purchases.

Authorities charged her with financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult and theft over $10,000.

She was booked into the Rutherford County Jail with a bond of $52,000.
