Meet new city council member Marvene Noel
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – We’re now hearing from the woman recently appointed to the District 8 seat of the Chattanooga City Council.
Marvene Noel has been a resident of District 8’s Orchard Knob neighborhood for more than 30 years.
Following her appointment, Noel stopped by News 12 to share her thoughts on what it means to serve as a city council member.
“It means sitting down, having a candid conversation, listening, meeting and greeting those who live in the area, and finding out what the issues are, what their concerns are, and whatever ways we can, I can do… the businesses, leaders in the city, and other stakeholders can do to help satisfy those needs.”
Noel said she’s elated to be assuming the position previously held by Anthony Byrd.
She says she does plan to run in the next City Council election.
