Meigs County Jail Heating System Malfunction Prompts Emergency Response

Smoke entered the kitchen of the Meigs County Jail following a “malfunctioning heating system,” according to the Decatur Fire Department, which prompted an emergency response.

They share responders arrived on Tuesday, January 13, after being called to address smoke in coming from the ventilation system in the kitchen area.

The damage was minimal and left no damage inside the kitchen of the facility.
