Meigs County Official Indicted

Cookeville, TN (WDEF) The Meigs County Chancery Court Clerk and Master gets indicted for criminal simulation.

The TBI investigated a hotel receipt Timothy Proffitt submitted to the county for reimbursement.

Agents determined he falsified it.

Proffitt turned himself in and then posted bond.

At this time, he still remains in his position with Meigs County.
