Memphis man arrested for robbery outside Chattanooga auto parts store

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A Memphis man has been charged with an armed robbery at a Chattanooga O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store.

A Chattanooga police affidavit states that Rahkim Martin committed it at the auto parts store on 23rd Street on March 6.

The affidavit states that the victims were leaving the store shortly before 10:30 that evening when a man, identified later as Martin approached them with his face covered.

That’s when the victims state that Martin showed them a firearm and demanded money from them. 

They attempted to flee in their vehicle, when Martin fired upon them.

The victims then gave Martin money, who still shot at the victims afterwards, nearly missing them.

Police were able to track down Martin at a nearby motel.

He has previous convictions of carjacking and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is facing five charges in this incident including aggravated robbery.
