Men arrested for shooting Tennessee state trooper in Cookeville
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two men face felony charges in connection to the blue alert many of us received last week.
The driver of a white Kia Forte shot a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper on Friday.
TBI special agents began investigating the shooting, which occurred in the area of I-40 East at Exit 286 in Putnam County.
The state trooper had stopped the car on Friday.
The driver, Timothy Laquan Davis, Jr. shot him as he was approaching the car.
The state trooper is critically injured and remains hospitalized in Nashville.
Authorities arrested Davis in Nashville charging him with one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.
Passenger, Braze Rucker, is also in custody and faces a charge of Criminal Responsibility of Facilitation of a Felony in relation to Friday’s shooting.
