HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Tennessee nonprofit tnAchieves is seeking out 3,000 volunteers by this Friday to assist high schoolers in the state.

Their recruitment deadline is Friday, October 20, and they need mentors in many nearby counties.

How many mentors tnArchives says they need in nearby counties:

  • Bradley County – 99
  • Hamilton County – 149
  • Marion County – 6
  • McMinn County – 33
  • Polk County – 8
  • Rhea County – 19
  • Sequatchie County – 2

Mentorship takes one hour per month. tnAchieves provides training and weekly support to mentors. Mentors must be at least 21 years old.

Those interested in mentoring can apply here.

“The need for volunteer mentors is immediate and the opportunity is significant,” said tnAchieves Senior Director of Mentors Tyler Ford. “Mentorship clears a path for students to access a post-secondary credential. It opens doors to opportunities and career connections that benefit the student, their family and the community. Anyone invested in the success of local students and the growth of our workforce can make an impact as a tnAchieves mentor!”
