Michael Ashby charged with multi vehicle crash Sunday Night

FORT OGLETHROPE, Georgia (WDEF) -Fort Oglethorpe police have thrown multiple charges against a Ringgold man for a wreck Sunday night.

It happened around 7:30 at the intersection of South Cedar Lane and Cloud Springs Road.

Police tell us 33 year old Michael Gregory Ashby of Ringgold was involved in a fender bender, but then ran.

Then he topped a hill and ran into six other vehicles backed up at a light.

Five people were injured, but none were life threatening.

Ashby faces charges of DUI, Reckless Driving and Leaving the Scene, Following Too Close, and an Open Container violation.
