Michelle Morrison Dances for a Cause at Murray County’s Dancing with the Stars

Murray County(WDEF)-Michelle Morrison spends most of her days surrounded by horses, running her nonprofit ministry, Broken Heart Ranch, in Chatsworth. But this weekend, she’s swapping her cowboy boots for dancing shoes.

Morrison will be one of the local stars performing Saturday evening at Murray County’s Dancing with the Stars. It’s her first-ever fundraiser for the ranch — and she says the experience has already brought new energy and hope to her mission.

“They asked me to do Dancing with the Stars,” Morrison said. “It came at a really good time in my life. I needed it. It brought some excitement to me and to the ranch. This is the first time we’ve ever done a fundraiser — we’ve never asked for money — and people have been so kind and generous. It’s very exciting.”

The funds raised through the event will help expand programs and care for the horses that make Broken Heart Ranch’s ministry possible. Morrison says the ranch provides a safe place for families to connect, heal, and feel supported through faith and animal companionship.

“We see a need in our community,” Morrison said. “Our children and families need to be brought together. They need somewhere to go and someone to love on them, to encourage them — and that’s what we offer here. From the time they walk through that gate, we just wrap our arms around them and love them. We want them to feel loved by us and the horses.”

Morrison says she’s dancing not just for the cause — but for the community that’s helped her ranch grow one step at a time.
