Miller Family Foundation Donates 12 K-9 Vests to 4 Law Enforcement Agencies
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – K-9 dogs experience dangerous situations each day.
That’s why one local organization has stepped donated vests to several agencies.
Those agencies got a chance to say thank you and express why the vests are so needed.
Bradley County Sheriff’s and Hamilton County Sheriff if’s Office as well as Soddy Daisy Police and Collegedale Departments all received new K-9 vests for each of their dogs.
Will Miller, who is a part of the Miller Foundation said he heard the Bradley County Sheriff’s office was in need for vests. That’s when he made a call and found out there were more agencies who needed to protect their dogs.
Each dog goes through extensive training and is treated just like their human counterpart.
“Just important as our human lives in my opinion. They do have to go through a lot of training, a lot of stress and a lot of money is involved in these animals. We need to protect them every way we can”
“Anytime we get citizens or foundations who give this kind of generous gift…it means a lot terms of cutting down costs to the tax payers and it also means a lot in protecting these animals.”
The Miller foundation donated 12 thousand dollars for the purchase of the vests.
The vests have been ordered and are expected to arrive at each agency in the next few weeks.
