Minor earthquake rocks Georgia/Alabama line

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) The Georgia/ Alabama line was gently rocked by an earthquake Friday morning just after 10 AM.

The USGS says it was a 2.6 magnitude quake.

The USGS says 2.5 is about the threshold for feeling a tremor.

They center it about 14 kilometers east/southeast of Fort Payne.

That puts it on the lower section of Lookout Mountain near the state line

There are no reports of injuries or damage from the earthquake.
