Missing endangered adult found via drone

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A missing endangered adult has been located following the use of drone technology.

On March 23, 2026, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to a missing endangered adult call at the 5800 block of Quail Hollow Circle, according to the HCSO.

Using the HCSO’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Unit’s thermal drone, deputies were able to locate the individual.

They say the UAS Unit is an invaluable tool for law enforcement, offering the ability to cover vast areas and utilize advanced technology to not only search for missing people but also to aid the agency elsewhere, like being used for mapping crime scenes and providing logistical support during high-risk operations.

“Special teams and equipment, such as our Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, are vital for the present and future of law enforcement operations. This must have technology saves lives and resources.”
