Missing person case upgraded to homicide case with cash reward

ANNISTON, Ala. (WDEF) — The Anniston Police Department has been searching for a missing person, but they have now upgraded the case to a homicide investigation.

Alabama CrimeStoppers is now offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case.

Authorities have been searching for Miya Shavone Marshall since she was reported missing. She was last seen on July 30, 2022.

However, on May 15, 2023, investigators found human remains in the 2600 block of Noble Street in Anniston.

After processing those remains, authorities identified them as Marshall’s. She was 36 years old.

Investigators announced that the case is a homicide investigation on October 10, 2023.
