Mocs Cole Strange Going in First Round to Patriots: “Dream Come True Honestly”
Mocs offensive lineman Cole Strange made UTC history on Thursday night.
He became the first Chattanooga player to ever go in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Strange went 29th overall to the Patriots. What a thrill for Cole Strange and the Mocs program.
Said Strange on Friday after being introduced in Foxboro: “Man it’s a dream come true honestly. (chuckles) I don’t really know what to say other than that. I’m so happy to be here. I love it here already, and I’ve only been here for a few hours. I love it.”
Said Mocs head coach Rusty Wright:”So I knew that there was a chance for him to go high. I didn’t realize it was going to be this high. I got asked if I thought he belonged there, and I said you damn right he belongs there.”
Said Strange:” Mac Jones. So he texted me this morning and I think we are going to go eat dinner tonight. I forget the name fo the place, but it’s somewhere around here.”
Said Wright:”End of your years they get to put on it first round draft pick. Whenever that is for the rest of your life, so that’s a pretty cool honor.”
