Mocs Davis Tull and Corey Levin Named FCS All-Americans

Two members of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team were honored as All-Americans by The Sports Network today.  Senior defensive end Davis Tull was a first team selection, while sophomore offensive lineman Corey Levin earned third team honors.

Tull is a consensus All-American, but this is the first time Levin sees his name in the national listings.  Levin gives the Mocs a school-record five All-Americans in 2014, topping the previous record of four in 1945 and 2000.

Tull, a three-time Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, is on everyone’s All-American list.  Senior tight end Faysal Shafaat also has multiple honors this season.  Senior punt returner Tommy Hudson and junior quarterback Jacob Huesman each have earned one All-American nod following their play in 2014.

Levin won the SoCon’s Jacobs Blocking Award, given by the league’s coaches to the top offensive lineman in the conference.  He is the first offensive lineman at UTC named All-American since Steve Cutchen was an honorable mention pick in 1971.

Chattanooga posted a school-record 10-4 mark in 2014, winning its second consecutive SoCon title with a 7-0 league slate.  The Mocs advanced to the FCS Playoffs for the first time since 1984 and made their first appearance in the quarterfinals in school history.
