Mocs Defense Racking Up Plenty of Turnovers

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Mocs defense has been a turnover machine this season. They have 19 in seven games….that’s almost three a contest.

Chattanooga has 13 interceptions, which is tied for the most in the nation.

Head coach Rusty Wright is digging the turnover success, although he says it’s not really something his team works on.

Said Wright:”I’ve been around where we’ve practiced turnover days and things like that, trying to create strips and picks and those kind of things. We ain’t practiced it once this fall. Haven’t done any of it. Did a little bit in camp. We cover people up on the back-end, which has made the pass rush better. We’ve gotten to the quarterback faster, which has forced bad throws. Then the guys on the back-end have been in the right spot. It all ties into each other.”
