Mocs End Spring Football Friday Night With Spring Showcase

(gomocs.com) CHATTANOOGA—The Chattanooga Mocs are on display Friday night in Finley Stadium. The 2023 spring roster takes the field for the Spring Showcase presented by Food City.

The Mocs are breaking it down between two teams with the ones vs. the twos. The roster card is attached above.

“I think it’s a good opportunity for us,” Coach Rusty Wright began. “I think it’s been a good spring. The guys have liked going earlier (in the calendar). I think we’ll have an opportunity to see some new guys which, you know, that’s the biggest thing in the spring is try to find people who can help us and see how far some guys have come and figure out what we got.”

It’s the 15th and final spring practice day with the Spring Showcase presented by Food City. It’s been a productive process for the group.

“It’s been a good 14 practices for our guys,” Wright added leading into day 15 and the spring showcase. “We are trying out guys in different spots and doing some different things, but I think that that’s what it’s for (in the spring). It a chance to see who can do what and where.

“You know, every once in a while, you get a guy nicked up or dinged up, and you’re going to have to move some people around. This is a time you get to see some things and know what you got without it actually costing you (in a game).

“It’s been a time where we’ve moved some guys around on both sides of the ball with different groupings just to see how we can maximize some things with different personnel to see how those guys play with each other and interact.”

GATES, PARKING & CONCESSIONS: Gates open at 5 p.m., with action getting underway at 7 p.m. Only the St. Elmo gates on the South Side of the stadium are open for this event. Seating is also in the south (home) stands. Free parking is available for all fans while it lasts in the VIP Lot on the south side of the stadium. Fans who park in the North Lot on the city side of the stadium or on the north side of the First Horizon Pavilion need to pay for parking at the provided meters. Finley Stadium will have stands open with concessions and alcohol sales available. The UTC Bookstore will also be on site selling merchandise beginning at 6 p.m.

FirstBank PROMO: A few lucky fans get the opportunity to compete for a $50 gift card courtesy of FirstBank. To enter, teams of two need visit the Mocs table on the concourse upon entry at the St. Elmo gate. Winners will be selected to then compete on the field for the prize pack with the winning team both claiming a $50 gift card.

TICKETS: Season ticket renewals can be made at the entry as well.

VIDEO GAMING: Our tailgate friends are back for the evening. From 6-9 p.m., our video gaming truck will be on hand for family fun.
