Mocs Excited With Addition of Running Back Tyrell Price

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The running game has been a point of emphasis for the Mocs this spring.
Last year they scored only eight rushing touchdowns.
So no wonder they’re excited to have East Mississippi Community college transfer Tyrell Price at running back. Last season by himself, he had more rushing touchdowns than all but three SoCon teams.

Mocs coach Tom Arth can’t hide his smile when asked about the addition of Tyrell Price.
Arth:”You know he’s a big guy. He’s 6-foot, 220-pounds. Runs hard. Runs well. I think that’s what everybody is looking for.”
Hurd:”If you look at Tyrell, his legs are just big ol’ tree logs and everything. He’s a big, massive running back. He weighs about 220-pounds and does a really nice job
of really working downhill.”
And Price has the stats of a bruising, big back. He averaged nearly six yards a carry last season, and he led the juco nation with 24 rushing touchdowns.”
Arth:”He’s a very productive player against high level competition. Lot of those guys he’s running the ball against are going to be playing at SEC programs and
major college football programs all across the country. He dominated that level.”
The Mocs would love to see that dominance continue on their level.
Hurd:”Now he’s starting to get to the component where he’s running with a lot more physicality. Running with a lot more confidence whereas early on, he didn’t have it because he was swimming a little
bit just trying to figure out what we were doing offensively.”
Price:”Once you get comfortable and start getting a little comfortable the plays and the formation and all, you’ll be able to step out of your comfort zone and go and do more.”
And Price knows what it means to do more, his team won the junior college national championship last season.
Arth:”Pedigree is important. Being used to winning is important and knowing what it takes to achieve something like that winning a national championship is really important to us.
Price:”Big chip on my shoulder, especially coming from a junior college and having to go to junior college after high school, so I feel like I deserve more. I mean I’m here to get it, and I’m here to go after it.”
