CHATTANOOGA (Jan. 12, 2024) — Prime time. The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team aims for its third-straight win when it welcomes league-foe UNCG to McKenzie Arena for key Southern Conference clash during prime-time Saturday night. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network (check local listings). The game, which is the second leg of a doubleheader (WBB at 2PM vs. Samford), will feature flares from the 80’s as it’s “80’s Night” inside the Roundhouse. The first 550 fans will receive a FREE “Back to the Future” themed UTC t-shirt. For tickets, please visit the link here or call the McKenzie Arena Box Office at 423-266-6627 (MOCS) between business hours of 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET, M-F. All ticket windows will open 90 minutes before tip-off on game day. Chattanooga (10-6, 2-1 SoCon) is coming off a historic performance on Thursday night after routing SoCon-opponent VMI 109-61 for its second-straight win. The +48 margin of victory marked the largest against a DI opponent in program history while the 109 points tied for fifth-most against a DI in team history. Eight different Mocs reached double figures during the win, most on record at UTC, with Randy Brady leading the way with a career-high 16. UNCG (11-5, 2-1 SoCon) enters Saturday night’s contest as one of the league’s top teams after a successful non-conference slate featured an 8-1 start to the season with a win at SEC-member Arkansas included. The Spartans earned home SoCon wins over Furman (W, 79-68) and ETSU (W, 70-54) last week before suffering a loss on Thursday at Samford (L, 70-79) on Thursday. UNCG was slotted second in the preseason SoCon Coaches poll and earned one first-place vote.
