Mocs Golf Team Headed to NCAA Regionals in Texas

(gomocs.com) The Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf team are packing their bags and heading southwest. The 2026 Southern Conference Champions are going to the Lone Star State for the 2026 NCAA Bryan Regionals. The Mocs are one of 14 teams vying for a top 5 spot in regional play at the Traditions Club to advance to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, Calif.

“We were excited for the opportunity, no matter where it was going to be. But I think it’s a good spot for us having been there in 2022 with Pepperdine. The golf course is hard. You have to drive it straight. The wind can blow a little bit. There’s actually some similarities to the Honors. The greens are firm and you have to be pretty specific with your landing spots. Breakdown

• Chattanooga earned its way into the field as SoCon Champions. The squad was also in position for a potential at large pick but erased all doubt in Columbia.
• Play begins on Monday, May 18 and concludes on Wednesday. The field plays 54 holes with 18 per day. The top 5 teams and best individual finisher on a non-advancing team move on to the NCAA Championships May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in the San Diego area.
• The Mocs head to Texas for the first time in the postseason.
• Coach Blaine Woodruff was an assistant at Pepperdine when it advanced to the finals in 2022 out of the Traditions Club. He came to Chattanooga a month later after the Waves advanced to match play.
• Woodruff has led the team to regionals in three of his four seasons. Last year, Braidech finished top 25 at Auburn. Woodruff was an assistant coach on Pepperdine’s National Championship team in 2021.
• 5th straight year of NCAA selection. Two – Paul Conroy (2022) & Camden Braidech (2025) – were individual picks while the team was an at large selection in 2023 and 2024.
• The Mocs have advanced to the finals three times in their 10 previous team trips to regionals. Those came in 2009 (Stillwater), 2012 (Bowling Green) and 2023 (Auburn). Two individuals have moved on their own with Neil Connolly making it out of Charlottesville, Va., in 1993 and Chris Robb in 2014 (Eugene).
• Associate AD for Compliance Ken Jones is a member of the NCAA Tournament Committee. He is in his third year and has oversight over the Athens Regionals as well as heading west to La Costa for the finals.
