Mocs Golfer Dorota Zalewska Headed to NCAA Regionals

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs golfer Dorota Zalewska will tee it up in the NCAA Regionals next week. She qualified in style last month by claiming a one shot victory at the SoCon Championshps.

To see Dorota in person…championship golfer may not come to mind.
Said head coach Colette Murray:”Just to look at her. You would think she was a little ballet dancer or something. Twinkle toes, but Dorie has immense. You could literally sit or stand on the driving range and just listen to her hit balls because it’s just so pure.”
Dorota’s goals are pure as well.
Said Zalewska:”This is how I do all the time. I play golf to win tournaments. On every level that I am I want to achieve something, and it’s just a progress that I’m working on, and I’m putting all my effort in.”
The effort paid off at the SoCon championships.
Dorota was tied for the lead coming to the par 3 17th when she scored a hole-in-one.
Said Murray:”She hits the shot. Takes a bounce and disappears, and I just turned around and said, did that go in the hole? She’s got no idea. Meanwhile Kenny, our school oversight and Brandon, our athletic trainer, they’re going mental. Brandon is jumping up and down. So she then does a little lap around the tee. Victory lap.”
Said Zalewska:”When I was on the golf course it was the game face and just play me best.”
Reporter:”What is your game face?”
Said Zalewska:”Oh it depends on the situation, but I’m trying to be very relaxed.”
Dorota hails from Poland, and she admits she’s getting used to American life now.
Said Zalewska:”Being on the campus and seeing people in sweat pants. That was very interesting for me, which I do now. So I’m not proud of it.”
