Mocs Having Fun Ahead of Game With Florida State

Chattanooga-(WDEF) With their win over the Citadel, Chattanooga earned their second straight berth in the playoffs.
But before UTC can turn their full attention to the post-season, they have to battle a beast in college football. The Florida State Seminoles.

With a SoCon title in hand plus an automatic playoff berth, Mocs coach Russ Huesman says this is the most wonderful time of the year.
"The grind to get to this point is really, really hard. I said now it’s new life. New energy. We get to play another regular season game, and then go get to play in the playoffs. To me that’s fun."
Added linebacker Nakevion Leslie-"That’s what makes us so relaxed because we know that we are in the playoffs. We can just go out this Saturday and have fun and play the game."
Even though Chattanooga is headed to the playoffs, they’re not backing down from the challenge of facing Florida State.
Huesman-"We’re going down. We’re going to line up our players. They’re going to try to help us win a football game. Are we going to run Jacob (Huesman) 25 times in this game? No. That makes no sense whatsoever."
Probably wise to try and protect your quarterback against Florida State’s defense, which is 10th in the nation in scoring defense.
Huesman-"Clemson has probably got one of the best offenses in the country. Probably one of the best players in the country, and Florida State looked really good."
The Seminoles also feature one of the nation’s top running backs in Dalvin Cook, a likely Heisman contender.
But it’s not like UTC’s defense is going to be asking for his autograph.
Said Leslie-"I don’t really look at it as a pride thing. I just look at it like another team on the schedule. And going against another running back that I have to watch for and be able to bring to the ground when my time comes."
Kickoff is at 3pm in Tallahassee.
