Mocs Hoping For Much Better Results Against Western Carolina This Saturday
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Mocs suffered through a 3-8 record last season, and perhaps the low point came in their loss to Western Carolina. Talk about a beat down. UTC has just welcomed back starting quarterback Alejandro Bennifield from a four game suspension, and wham-mo. He got knocked out of the game on a sack. Bennifield suffered a concussion and never played again that season. Fellow quarterback Nick Tiano also got knocked out of the game as Western won 45-7, snapping an 8 game losing streak in the series. The Mocs meet up again with the Catamounts on Saturday.
Said head coach Tom Arth:”That was a difficult moment for our team. I certainly remember it. Certainly fuels me. I’m sure that it does our team as well. But that’s not what wins football games. Motivation and incentive doesn’t win football games. Execution does.”
Added receiver Wil Young:”It kind of left a bad taste in our mouth last year. We remember what they did to us last year. So we are just looking to go in and try to establish or get another win. Try to establish another streak that we had.”
Chattanooga enters Saturday’s contest having lost their lost two games.
